IQ Barcelona

IQ is a British neo prog band, originally from Plymouth, United Kingdom, formed in 1981 by Mike Holmes after the dissolution of his previous band, The Lens. Although they did not enjoy much public success throughout their career, they built a solid fan base that still exists today.

They were one of the bands that, along with Marillion, Pendragon, Twelfth Night or Pallas, continued with the progressive rock of the ’70s of bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Genesis or Yes.

They have practically become a cult band, a benchmark within the progressive rock of the 80’s and 90’s. Their last visit to Spain was in 2022, in Barcelona and Madrid with great public success, where they presented the album Resistance, acclaimed by critics and fans.

The band is made up of Peter Nicholls (vocals), Michael Holmes (guitar), Paul Cook (drums), Neil Durant (keyboards) and Tim Esau (bass).
